We are so glad you are interested in what God is doing in our Worship & Fine Arts Ministries here at Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church. These ministries exist to lead our church family in experiencing a fresh encounter with the Lord every time we come together!  Whether we are making music, acting, painting & building sets, or making props & costumes, we strive to do everything as an expression of worship, to bring glory to God, and make Him known.  I invite you to come join us as we serve Him together!    - Pastor David

Remember, God doesn’t just ask for your ability, but your availability. We have a place for everyone who wants to take part in this ministry. Currently, we have a Praise Team & Band which leads the music in the 8:30 am more contemporary service, and an Adult Choir that leads during the 11:00 am worship service which is a blend of traditional and contemporary. We strive to use many different styles and types of music to praise, worship, and lift the name of the Lord so that Jesus Christ might be made known and exalted in our communities and our lives! Don’t deny yourself the blessing of worshipping God as part of these wonderful ministries! Come and join us!

HMBC Combined Drama Ministries

And the call comes forth: "Actors, Actors!  Wherefore Art Thou, Actors?"  

We are currently an ad hoc group but would like to eventually be more and permanently active.  When in preparation for a production, we have cast/crew meetings to have fellowship and devotions, as well as to schedule rehearsals for that production.  We have prepared and will continue to prepare shorter presentations such as skits, reader’s theatre presentations, interpretive &   dramatic movement as well as sign-language   presentations. We also prepare large drama and music productions for Christmas and Easter, and there is also an interest in staging full-length   Christian plays.  If you know that you have some acting skills, or if you’re not sure and would like to learn how to act, then come and join us! Through drama, we strive to share faith, hope, and the love of Christ with a world that desperately needs Him. So, come on and get involved - you’ll be glad you did!

 Rally Time

The goals of Children’s Music Ministry are now accomplished through Rally Time!  But it’s SO much more than music - it’s our new Sunday school format for all kids in Kindergarten-5th Grade, which includes around twenty minutes of exciting games, fun songs, characters and Bible memory!   Every week in the MPF at 9:45, the kids and leaders join together in the MPF to experience the power of corporate worship, the anticipation of fun, and the memorization and recitation of Scripture.  Additionally they get to laugh at the antics of guest characters like “Army Man” and “Mr. Tim,” to participate in competitive games, to learn loud and wild songs (as well as some worshipful ones), and to have the best time of their lives in Sunday school!

During Rally Time we also teach music and drama to use in worshipping the Lord!  The Rally kids will be learning both individual songs and dramatic musicals, learning about singing in parts and proper pronunciation of singing words, and learning how to participate in weekly worship services.  They will also be preparing some selected Scriptures, songs and dramatic musicals for performance during  a pre-scheduled worship service.  All of this helps the Rally kids to discover their artistic gifts and to prepare them to use these gifts for the Lord as they get older.

All parents are welcome to come and visit the Rally – who knows, maybe you’ll get picked to help out with a game or a silly song!  We know you’ll love it as much as your children do!
